Pistachio Dukkah: A Nut-Based Spice Blend for Cooking and Garnishing

Dukkah is a nut-based spice blend commonly used in Middle Eastern and North African cooking. While traditional versions often use hazelnuts or almonds, pistachios are frequently used as an alternative.

Pistachio Dukkah Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped pistachios

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

  • 2 tablespoons coriander seeds

  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Toast seeds lightly, cool, grind coarsely, then mix with pistachios.

Ways to Use Pistachio Dukkah

  • Dip bread in olive oil, then dukkah

  • Sprinkle over roasted vegetables

  • Use as a dry rub for proteins
